FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION MALAYSIA NEED TO SORT TICKETING ISSUES

Malaysia hosted Vietnam in the final of the ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup. Ticket were issued out both direct and online. Some of the people waited one day earlier at the stadium. The presence of people at the stadium is outstanding. Long lines queues as if Malaysia is going to play that night.

At the date itself, the gate are opened in the morning. After thirty minutes of selling, the counter delayed the all the buyer saying they have some problem regarding the problem. After another thirty minutes, the counter close and said that all the ticket was sold out which is very much confusing because people have limits in purchasing ticket and it is quiet impossible to be sold out in short period of time. Some of them even fainted due to the exposure of heat.

The spark of this issue is when people started to sell online. The price of the ticket sell by the reseller reaches until RM900 per ticket which not acceptable. The reseller really took the advantage of people needing to see the final because of the excitement. The exploitation of selling the ticket with ridiculous price need to be address.

Further investigation had been done to see further in this issue. YB Syed Saddiq, Youth and Sport minister is contacted in order to solve the problem. Answering the issue regarding what is happening in the industry, Syed Saddiq said he is aware of the issue and he is trying his best to curb the problem. Saddiq said that the action of the reseller is not ethical because they are exploiting the situation to their advantage. He suggested that strict ticketing method should be introduce to prevent reseller from buying huge amount of ticket and reselling it to other consumer.
